Professor Ji Eun Eom's research lab specializes in hematological malignancies, with a primary focus on chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD). The lab investigates disease mechanisms, treatment outcomes, and risk factors in CML patients, particularly in the context of tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy and resistance. A significant emphasis is placed on understanding immune reconstitution and complications such as hypogammaglobulinemia following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The lab also explores viral reactivation risks, including hepatitis B virus, in patients undergoing immunosuppressive therapies.

Sclerotic chronic graft-versus-host disease (sclGVHD) is associated with significant morbidity and a poor quality of life. We reviewed 502 patients diagnosed with chronic GVHD and analyzed the incidence and risk factors of sclGVHD and long-term outcomes and immunosuppressive therapy (IST) cessation in patients with sclGVHD.
