Professor Ji Eun Lee's research lab focuses on interdisciplinary studies at the intersection of education equity, environmental sustainability, and health sciences. The lab investigates gender disparities in educational outcomes, particularly the impact of teacher gender on student achievement in sub-Saharan Africa, while also exploring urban mobility challenges linked to decentralization and transportation inequality. Additionally, the lab conducts applied research in biotechnology and environmental engineering, including biofuel production from agricultural waste and the development of advanced materials for pollutant removal. A growing focus is on the health implications of aging, particularly the links between sarcopenia and age-related hearing impairment in older populations.

We examined butanol fermentation by Clostridium beijerinckii NCIMB 8052 using various hydrolyzates obtained from rice bran, which is one of the most abundant agricultural by-products in Korea and Japan. 다문화주의 관점에서의 고등학교 교과서 분석 연구 A Study on High School English Textbooks in Terms of Multiculturalism 이 지 은 Lee Ji Eun 국 문 요 약 외국어를 성공적으로 학습하기 위해서는 그 해당 언어의 문화적 요소를 습득하는 것이 필수적이다. 우리나라 제7차 교육과정에서도 외국어 교육에 있어서의 문화적 요소의 가르침을 강조하고 있다. 학생들은 교과서를 통해서 영어사용국가의 문화를 가장 많이 접하고 배우게 된다. 그렇기 때문에 영어 교과서에 실리는 텍스트의 내용과 등장인물의 특성은 학생들이 영어사용국가에 대한 문화를 형성하는 데 있어서 지대한 영향을 미친다고 말할 수 있다. 이러한 영어 교과서의 영향성을 고려하여, 현 영어사용국가들의 추세인 다문화주의 관점에서 우리나라 고등학교 영어 교과서 8종 총 96단원에 등장하는 500명의 인물들을 인종, 성별, 나이, 사회적 계급, 신체적 결함상태로 분석하였다.

자기조절학습전략은 메타인지적, 인지적, 동기적, 행동적인 전략들을 자율적으로 선택하고 적용하여 학습자가 적극적이고 능동적으로 학습에 참여할 수 있도록 돕는 학습전략이다. 본 연구의 목적은 수학저널 쓰기학습에서 자기조절학습전략의 양상은 어떠한가를 살펴보기 위함에 있다. 수학저널은 총 13문항으로 자기조절학습전략의 하위요소별로 1~2문항씩 구성하였다. 연구의 결과 수학저널에서 메타인지전략은 학습 목표 설정, 문제해결전략탐구, 반성적 사고, 예를 들어 설명하기 등으로 표현되었다. 인지전략은 아이디어간의 구조 파악하기, 위계화하기, 핵심 내용 파악하기 등으로 표현되었다. 동기전략은 학습에 대한 만족감과 불안감, 차후 학습에 대한 자신감과 좌절감 등으로 표현되었다. 이는 수학저널 쓰기학습을 통하여 자기조절학습전략이 활용되고 있으며 효율적이고 성공적인 학습을 돕는다는 점에서 수학 교육학적인 시사점이 있다.
