Professor Ji Hoi Kim's research lab focuses on neuroscience and molecular oncology, with a strong emphasis on understanding the neurobiological basis of migraine through advanced neuroimaging techniques such as voxel-based morphometry and PET scanning. The lab also investigates the role of novel cytokines like IL-32 in cancer progression, particularly in colon and melanoma models, highlighting the regulation of key signaling pathways such as NF-κB and STAT3. Additionally, the lab contributes to reproductive biology by identifying surface markers like GFRα-1 for isolating porcine spermatogonial stem cells, supporting regenerative and biotechnological applications. Their work bridges clinical neurology, cancer biology, and stem cell research with translational implications.
