Professor Ji Hyun Jeon's research lab focuses on dermatological therapeutics and clinical dermatology, with a strong emphasis on identifying novel, non-antibiotic antimicrobial agents—particularly natural compounds like epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and green tea extracts—for treating challenging Gram-negative bacterial skin infections. The lab also investigates innovative treatments for chronic pruritus of unknown origin, exploring the efficacy of biologic agents such as dupilumab. Additionally, the lab applies medical imaging techniques, including ultrasound, to assess facial skin thickness and optimize the safety and precision of cosmetic and dermatological procedures. These multidisciplinary efforts reflect a commitment to improving patient outcomes through translational research in antimicrobial therapy, inflammatory skin disorders, and procedural dermatology.
