Professor Ji Hyung Kang's research lab specializes in the design and engineering of advanced functional materials for biomedical and energy applications. The lab focuses on developing smart, self-healing, and stimuli-responsive materials—particularly hydrogels, ionic liquids, and supramolecular polymers—tailored for next-generation wearable electronics, implantable medical devices, and high-performance batteries. Key research directions include the rational design of dynamic bonding networks for mechanical resilience, nanoscale delivery systems for biologics, and bioinspired materials with tunable mechanical and transport properties.
