Professor Ji Won Oh's research lab specializes in genomic and developmental biology, focusing on understanding human embryogenesis, somatic mosaicism, and the genetic basis of evolutionary adaptations. The lab employs advanced single-cell and whole-genome sequencing technologies to reconstruct cellular lineage trees, study somatic mutation dynamics, and explore the molecular mechanisms underlying human development and disease. Additionally, the lab investigates cellular reprogramming and tissue engineering, particularly in dermal papilla cells for regenerative therapies, and applies innovative 3D imaging techniques to study vascular architecture in the brain.
