Professor Ji Yeo Han's research lab focuses on regenerative medicine, stem cell biology, and reproductive health, with a particular emphasis on the molecular mechanisms regulating stem cell proliferation and differentiation, especially in embryonic and renal progenitor cells. The lab investigates signaling pathways involving angiotensin II, dopamine, and growth factor receptors in cellular physiology, as well as the impact of genetic factors—such as BRCA mutations—on ovarian reserve and fertility preservation in cancer patients. Clinical and preclinical studies are integrated to explore therapeutic applications in neurodevelopmental disorders, infertility, and kidney disease.

Effect of angiotensin II (ANG II) on mouse embryonic stem (ES) cell proliferation was examined. ANG II increased [(3)H] thymidine incorporation in a time- (>4 h) and dose- (>10(-9) M) dependent manner. We have examined the effect of dopamine on Ca(2+) uptake and its related signaling pathways in primary renal proximal tubule cells (PTCs). Dopamine increased Ca(2+) uptake in a concentration (>10(-10) M) and time- (>8 h) dependent manner.
