Professor Ji Young Kim's research spans environmental health, molecular epigenetics, and nutraceutical science, with a focus on understanding the biological impacts of environmental pollutants, the epigenetic regulation of disease, and the health-promoting effects of dietary phytochemicals. Her lab investigates how airborne particulate matter and heavy metals like cadmium affect cellular signaling and immune function, explores the role of histone-modifying enzymes in cancer development, and examines the bioactive compounds in cocoa for their potential in disease prevention. The integration of environmental exposure, molecular mechanisms, and functional foods defines the interdisciplinary nature of her research program.
