Professor Jin Ahn's research lab specializes in biomedical imaging and nanomaterials, focusing on advancing fluorescence diffuse optical tomography (FDOT) for molecular imaging through compressive sensing and matrix preconditioning techniques. The lab also investigates functional nanomaterials, such as graphene oxide-silica hybrids and polydexyribonucleotide-based therapeutics, for applications in lung injury treatment and tissue engineering. A key research direction involves developing novel imaging strategies and bioactive compounds to target inflammatory diseases, including asthma and acute lung injury.

Compounds 7 and 17 exhibit potent anti-inflammatory properties, linked with the inhibition of NF-κB activation by preventing the degradation of IκBα phosphorylation. The incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis has been reducing, but endobronchial tuberculosis continues to be a signigicant heath problem. We performed prospectively bronchoscopy in patients diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis in order to evaluate the frequency of endobronchial tuberculosis and its related findings.
