Professor Jin-Hee Han's research lab specializes in translational biomedical research, focusing on the therapeutic potential of polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN), an adenosine A2A receptor agonist, in various inflammatory and ischemic conditions. The lab investigates PDRN’s anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and tissue-protective effects in preclinical models of acute liver injury, cerebral and ischemic colitis, Parkinson’s disease, and perioperative anesthesia. A central theme is the modulation of neuroinflammation and cell death pathways, particularly through suppression of microglial activation and astrocyte reactivity. The lab also explores non-pharmacological interventions, such as treadmill exercise, in neurodegenerative models.

15In this comparative study of three anesthetic combinations (PRO/REM, SEV/REM, and DES/REM) in patients undergoing ESS with controlled BP and HR, we did not observe any significant differences in the surgical grade scores.
Epidural steroid therapy is a commonly used conservative therapy; however, complications could develop in patients without any risk factors. Clinicians who plan an epidural steroid injection must perform a rigorous evaluation through a detailed physical examination, simple laboratory tests, and history taking to prevent various risks associated with spinal cord compression.
Treadmill running improved motor ability of the rotenone-induced PD rats by inhibiting apoptosis in the cerebellum. Apoptosis suppressing effect of treadmill running on rotenone-induced PD was achieved via suppression of reactive astrocyte and inhibition of microglial activation.
