Professor Jin-Hee Na's research lab focuses on the sociocultural dynamics of identity, education, and inequality in contemporary South Korean society, with a particular emphasis on youth experiences related to regional origin and academic background. The lab investigates how structural inequalities are emotionally and psychologically internalized by young people through media representations and institutional practices, especially in education and employment. Drawing on critical theory and cultural studies, particularly Raymond Williams’ concept of 'structure of feelings,' the lab explores the emotional and symbolic dimensions of social stratification under neoliberalism. Current research integrates textual analysis of television dramas and documentaries with qualitative interviews to uncover the lived realities of regional and educational marginalization among youth.

1한국 사회에서 출신지역과 학벌은 사회 문화적으로 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 특히, 청년세대에게 출신지역과 학벌은 정서적으로 큰 영향을 끼치고 있으며 입시와 취업, 결혼 등 생애주기 전반에 구체적이고 밀접한 연관을 지님을 알 수 있다. 이 연구에서는 미디어에 재현되고 있는 출신지역과 학벌을 중심으로 특정 집단에 속해 있는 청년들의 입시 및 취업과정에서 나타나는 감정구조에 주목한다. 출신지역과 학벌에 대한 심도 있는 논의를 위해 지역청년과 지방대생으로 연구대상을 특정하고, 이들의 감정구조를 신자유주의의 맥락에서살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 레이몬드 윌리엄즈(Raymond Williams)의 ‘감정구조’(structure of feelings) 개념을 이론적으로 고찰했고 이를 활용해 분석을 시도하였다. 미디어에 재현되는 출신지역과 학벌을 살펴보기 위해 청년세대가 일상적으로 겪는 고충을 사실적으로 다루고 지방대와 지역에 주목하는 두 TV 프로그램을 대상으로 면밀한 텍스트 분석을 실시하였다. 그
