Professor Jin Kyung Cho's research lab focuses on the interplay between lifestyle factors, metabolic health, and age-related diseases, with a particular emphasis on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), sarcopenia, and cognitive decline. The lab investigates the protective effects of non-pharmacological interventions—especially aerobic and resistance-based exercise—on metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, and neurodegenerative conditions in both animal models and human populations. Current research directions include the role of physical activity, muscle strength, and socioeconomic status in modulating liver and brain health across the lifespan. The lab integrates translational research from preclinical models to population-based studies to identify actionable strategies for preventing and managing metabolic and musculoskeletal disorders in aging and obese populations.
