Professor Jisung Kang's research lab focuses on population health analytics, with a strong emphasis on global health metrics, disease burden, and the long-term impacts of infectious diseases such as COVID-19. The lab conducts large-scale, population-based cohort studies to investigate the epidemiological consequences of conditions like post-acute COVID-19, prenatal opioid exposure, and circadian rhythm disruptions through time-restricted eating. A central theme is the integration of real-world health data to inform public health policy and understand the biological and behavioral determinants of chronic disease and neuropsychiatric outcomes. The lab also explores the molecular mechanisms linking micronutrients—such as vitamin D—to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.
