Professor Jiwoo Lee's research lab specializes in metabolic and cardiovascular health, with a focus on insulin resistance, sarcopenia, and obesity-related diseases. The lab investigates biomarkers such as the TyG index and body composition using medical imaging and molecular profiling to understand disease progression in asymptomatic and prediabetic populations. Key research directions include the role of adipose tissue in cancer microenvironments, the development of deep learning models for automated CT-based muscle and fat segmentation, and longitudinal analysis of metabolically healthy obesity and its impact on chronic kidney disease.
