Professor Jong Woo Kang's research lab specializes in orthopedic and musculoskeletal biomechanics, with a focus on upper extremity injuries, microsurgical tissue protection, and innovative surgical techniques. The lab investigates arthroscopic repair outcomes, particularly for triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) injuries, and explores strategies to mitigate ischemia-reperfusion injury in microsurgery. It also develops and evaluates novel surgical approaches—such as guided osteotomy in ulnar shortening surgery—and examines biomechanical risk factors in occupational hand use and lower limb biomechanics. The lab integrates clinical outcomes with advanced imaging and motion analysis to improve surgical precision and patient recovery.

원위 요골 골절은 응급실에서 볼 수 있는 흔한 골절인 만큼 적절한 치료방법을 선택하는 것이 중요하고 또한 치료 과정이나 치료 후 발생하는 합병증을 조기에 인지하고 적절한 예방을 하는 것도 치료만큼 중요하다. 원위 요골 골절과 관련된 합병증은 골절 후 시기에 따라 다양한 양상으로 발생하며 그 빈도는 전체 원위 요골 골절의 약 27% 정도에 달하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 종설에서는 원위 요골 골절의 치료 시 발생할 수 있는 합병증과 그 예방 및 적절한 치료방법에 대하여 논하고자 한다.
