研究室紹介
Professor Jongseo Yang's research lab specializes in surface physics and materials science, focusing on the kinetic mechanisms of ion beam-induced surface morphologies and nanostructure evolution. The lab combines in situ experimental techniques—such as x-ray reflectivity and scanning tunneling microscopy—with theoretical modeling, including extended continuum theories like the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky model, to understand nanoscale surface roughening and island formation. Another key research direction involves technology innovation management, particularly in optimizing priority allocation among fundamental technology elements in multi-project R&D environments using integrated methodologies such as QFD and Taguchi methods. The lab bridges fundamental materials science with applied project management to enhance R&D efficiency and technology development outcomes.

2We investigate the kinetic roughening of Ar+ ion-sputtered Pd(001) surface both experimentally and theoretically. In situ real-time x-ray reflectivity and in situ scanning tunneling microscopy show that nanoscale adatom islands form and grow with increasing sputter time t. Surface roughness W(t) and lateral correlation length xi(t) follow the scaling laws W(t) approximately t(beta) and xi(t) approximately t(1/z) with the exponents beta approximately 0.20 and 1/z approximately 0.20, for an ion be
Current technology innovation or new product development project is composed of various process elements that conduct researches on fundamental technologies. However, with the effects of PERT and CPM, the greater part of the existing project management researches have only focused on the resource allocation and scheduling. But in the multi-project environment, priorities between technology elements need to be considered. Furthermore, a disagreement of opinion between project managers and researc
