Professor Jun Hwa Lee's research lab specializes in clinical metabolomics and biomarker discovery, focusing on the identification of low-mass ions (LMIs) and metabolic profiles using mass spectrometry for early disease detection, particularly in cancer and neurological disorders. The lab integrates MALDI-TOF and triple-TOF mass spectrometry to develop discriminant models like LOME for non-invasive screening, with applications in ovarian cancer, colorectal cancer, and pediatric neurological conditions such as febrile seizures and acute necrotizing encephalopathy. The team also investigates trace element imbalances, such as zinc deficiency, in pediatric neurological diseases, and explores the utility of neuroimaging and SPECT in diagnosing rare syndromes like Dyke-Davidoff-Masson. Their work bridges metabolomics, clinical neurology, and preventive healthcare, especially in vulnerable populations like rural elderly and children.

Blood metabolites can be detected as low-mass ions (LMIs) by mass spectrometry (MS). 본 연구는 스포츠활동 경험, 스포츠안전교육 참여, 보험 또는 공제 가입에 따른 안전사고 조치법 인지의 상대적 위험률을 규명하여 안전한 스포츠활동 참여를 확산시키기 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 실시되었다. 이 연구의 분석을 위한 자료는 2015 스포츠안전사고 실태기초조사의 원자료이며, 모집단은 만 19세 이상의 일반 국민 3,031명을 대상으로 연구의 가설을 검증하기 위한 상대적 위험률을 산출하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 스포츠활동 미경험자는 심폐소생술을 인지하고 있지 않을 확률이 약 0.4배, 지혈방법을 인지하고 있지 않을 확률이 약 2배, 기도확보 방법을 인지하고 있지 않을 확률이 약 3배, 골절 조치 방법을 인지하고 있지 않을 확률이 약 2배, 제세동기 사용 방법을 인지하고 있지 않을 확률이 약 1.9배, 쇼크 대처 방법을 인지하고 있지 않을 확률이 약 1.3배 높다. 둘째, 스포츠안전교육 미참여자는 심폐소생술을 인지하고 있지 않을 확률이 약 2배, 지혈방법 미인지는 약 4.5배
