Professor Jung Eun Lee's research lab focuses on the intersection of human microbiota, metabolic and genetic factors, and their roles in cancer development and progression. The lab investigates how host factors—such as genetics, obesity, vitamin D status, and uric acid levels—influence microbial communities and disease outcomes, particularly in cancers like cervical, renal cell, and colorectal cancers. Using large-scale epidemiological studies, molecular analyses, and advanced imaging techniques, the lab aims to uncover biological mechanisms linking host physiology, microbiota, and cancer risk. The research also explores the clinical implications of these associations for early detection and personalized prevention strategies.
