Professor Jung-geun Lee's research lab specializes in plant stress physiology and biomedical signal engineering, focusing on the physiological and biochemical responses of plants—particularly tomatoes—under abiotic stresses such as heat and salinity, with an emphasis on grafting and rootstock effects. The lab also investigates photoplethysmography (PPG) signal modeling, exploring the interaction between DC and AC components in pulse wave analysis for improved vital sign monitoring. By integrating plant biotechnology with advanced sensing technologies, the lab aims to develop sustainable agricultural practices and non-invasive health monitoring solutions. Recent work includes optimizing PPG sensor placement and evaluating the reuse of waste nutrient solutions in hydroponic systems for sustainable vegetable production.
