研究室紹介

Professor Jung Kun Jin's research lab specializes in micro-scale energy systems and catalytic combustion, focusing on the development of compact, efficient heat sources for microreactors. The lab investigates catalytic materials—particularly platinum-coated porous substrates like Isolite B5—for applications in micro combustors that supply thermal energy to endothermic reactions. Their work emphasizes precise control of reaction conditions, such as flow rate and equivalence ratio, to optimize heat transfer and combustion efficiency in miniaturized systems. The research has strong implications for portable power generation, micro-process engineering, and clean energy technologies.

Micro Catalytic Combustor as a Heat Source for Micro Endothermic Reactors

A micro catalytic combustor was studied as an energy source to supply heat to a micro scale endothermic reactor. The catalyst bed was made from porous material called Isolite B5 coated with Pt catalyst by the incipient wetness method. The catalyst bed is inserted in a millimeter scale reaction chamber and temperature distribution along the outside wall of the reactor was measured by varying the flow rate and equivalence ratio of the hydrogen and air mixture.

This DOI is not currently attached to any metadata records. DOIs can’t actually ever be deleted (they’re persistent), but sometimes our members create DOIs in error. We do have a process to approximate deletion which we follow only in rare cases where the DOI has been genuinely created in error, and most crucially, if the DOI has never been published anywhere online or in print and never otherwise distributed to or communicated with anyone (authors, readers, reviewers, etc.
