Professor Jung-Han Lee's research lab focuses on the neurobiological underpinnings of behavioral addictions, particularly Internet gaming disorder and problematic smartphone use, with an emphasis on structural and functional brain abnormalities in adolescents. The lab investigates how impulsivity, emotion regulation, and executive control deficits relate to gray matter volume changes and altered functional connectivity in key brain networks such as the default mode, salience, and executive control networks. Their work combines neuroimaging techniques like voxel-based morphometry and fMRI with clinical and psychological assessments to uncover neural mechanisms underlying addictive behaviors.
