Professor Junyeol Lim's research lab specializes in arthroscopic shoulder surgery, with a primary focus on rotator cuff repair in elderly and osteoporotic patients. The lab investigates biomechanical stability and fixation techniques in arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, particularly addressing challenges related to screw loosening and implant failure in compromised bone quality. Current research directions include optimizing surgical techniques and implant strategies to enhance fixation strength and long-term outcomes in osteoporotic bone.

1수술적 치료가 필요한 회전근개 파열을 가진 고령환자는 증가하고 있다. 관절경하 회전근개 봉합술에서 봉합나사와 골 사이가 견고하게 고정되는 것은 성공적인 회전근개 봉합술결과에 핵심 생역학적 인자가 된다. 그런데 관절경하 회전근개 봉합술 시 봉합나사의 이탈은 약 5.4%까지도 보고되고 있으며 봉합나사 이탈 발생 시의 해결책에 대한 여러 가지 연구들이 시행되어 왔다. 본 종설에서는 골다공증 동반 환자에서 관절경하 회전근개 봉합술 시 안정적인 골-봉합나사 간의 고정력을 얻기 위한 여러 고려사항들을나열하고, 봉합나사의 이탈이 발생하거나 느슨하게 고정되었을 시 해결책에 대한 술기적인 내용들을 다루도록 한다. 이를 통해 골다공증 동반 회전근개 파열 봉합 환자에서도 일정하게 만족스러운 수술적 치료 결과를 얻는 효과를 기대한다.
