Professor Kiseon Seong's research lab specializes in lower extremity orthopedics, with a primary focus on foot and ankle surgery, particularly in the management of complex deformities and soft tissue injuries. The lab investigates surgical outcomes in conditions such as total ankle arthroplasty with significant varus deformity, chronic lateral ankle instability, and hallux valgus, emphasizing biomechanical and functional outcomes. Research also extends to peripheral nerve disorders, including tarsal tunnel syndrome due to space-occupying lesions, and quantitative assessment of joint laxity in the knee and ankle. The lab integrates clinical outcomes with radiographic and biomechanical evaluations to optimize surgical techniques and patient rehabilitation.

PURPOSE: (1) To describe ankle strength and postural stability in patients with chronic lateral ankle instability and (2) to analyse the correlation between deficits in ankle strength and postural stability.
