研究室紹介
Professor Kun-Hee Jang's research lab specializes in the dynamic analysis, design, and optimization of high-precision mechanical systems, particularly in the context of hard disk drives (HDDs) and ultrasonic machining. The lab focuses on fluid-lubricated bearings (FDBs), flexible rotor-disk systems, ultrasonic sonotrodes, and the dynamic behavior of rotating machinery, integrating advanced finite element modeling, nonlinear dynamics, and experimental validation. Key research directions include bearing dynamics, vibration control, electrostatic discharge phenomena, and ultrasonic tool design for precision manufacturing.

15This research presents an analytical method to calculate the characteristics of the ball bearing under the effect of the waviness in its rolling elements and the centrifugal force and gyroscopic moment of ball. The waviness of rolling elements is modeled by using sinusoidal function, and the centrifugal force and gyroscopic. moment of ball are included in the kinematic constraints and force equilibrium equations to produce the nonlinear governing equations. To improve the convergence of the nume
We developed and optimized a block-type ultrasonic horn that can be used for cutting hard materials. The proposed block-type sonotrode consists of an aluminum horn and a tungsten carbide blade to increase the cutting of hard materials. We designed an initial ultrasonic block horn that has double slots and an exponential stepped profile. We developed a finite element model of the initial model and analyzed the characteristics of natural frequency and displacement. We formulated a DOE table and re
