Professor Kyung Hwak Yoon's research lab focuses on advancing personalized breast cancer care through translational and clinical research. Key research directions include the pathological and biological characterization of estrogen receptor-low breast cancer, the impact of BRCA mutations on recurrence and treatment outcomes, and the optimization of surgical techniques such as nipple-sparing mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction. The lab also investigates predictive biomarkers for treatment response, particularly in the context of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, using imaging and proteomic profiling to improve early detection and precision oncology.
