Professor Kyung Hyun Kim's research spans interdisciplinary studies at the intersection of cultural studies, media studies, and science and technology studies, with a focus on Korean popular culture, digital media, and the socio-technical dimensions of contemporary Korean society. His lab investigates the global impact of the Korean Wave (Hallyu), including film, television, internet culture, and digital subcultures such as PC bangs and online fandoms.
