Professor Kyung Il Park's research lab specializes in cardiovascular and marine biomedical research, with a focus on interventional cardiology, particularly the functional assessment of coronary artery disease using fractional flow reserve (FFR) and the long-term outcomes of revascularization strategies. The lab also investigates marine disease ecology, particularly the role of parasitic pathogens like *Perkinsus* spp. in mass mortality events of commercially important bivalves such as the Manila clam. Additional research interests include the impact of antiplatelet therapy—especially ticagrelor—on microvascular function and the role of hemoglobin variability in the development of hypertension. The lab integrates clinical cardiology with population-based epidemiology and environmental health sciences to address both human and ecological health challenges.
