Professor Kyung Soo Jung's research lab focuses on translational biomedical research with a strong emphasis on clinical genomics, infectious disease epidemiology, and critical care biomarkers. The lab investigates genomic alterations in cancer using archival formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues, explores risk factors and outcomes in multidrug-resistant bacterial infections like carbapenem-resistant *Acinetobacter baumannii* bacteremia, and evaluates novel biomarkers such as serum cystatin C for early detection and prognosis of acute kidney injury in septic patients. The lab integrates molecular diagnostics with clinical data to improve patient outcomes in intensive care and oncology settings.

The results suggest that adults with a history of childhood abuse have lower levels of knowledge of child abuse and use more negative disciplinary practices in raising their children. This highlights the need to administer not only educational but also more direct hands-on interventions to vulnerable parents in order to foster healthy parenting and disciplinary practices.

We aim to evaluate the association between the bilirubin to albumin ratio and prognosis in intensive care unit (ICU) patients.
