Professor Mi Hye Park's research lab focuses on optimizing ventilatory strategies in surgical patients, particularly in thoracic and general anesthesia, with an emphasis on minimizing postoperative pulmonary complications. The lab investigates hemodynamic stability, lung-protective ventilation, and novel ventilatory parameters such as driving pressure and mechanical power to improve outcomes in patients undergoing lung resection and other high-risk procedures. A key focus is on comparing airway management techniques—like laryngeal mask airway versus endotracheal intubation—to enhance hemodynamic stability and reduce postoperative discomfort. The lab also explores pharmacological adjuvants, such as pregabalin, to enhance regional anesthetic efficacy and postoperative pain control.
