研究室紹介

Professor Mi-Sook Park's research lab specializes in medical imaging and molecular diagnostics, focusing on improving the accuracy of radiological assessments for abdominal cancers and liver diseases. The lab investigates advanced MRI and CT techniques—such as diffusion-weighted imaging, perfusion CT, and MRCP—to enhance early detection and treatment prediction in hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, and pancreatic cancer. Additionally, the lab explores neuroimaging biomarkers of addiction, particularly alcohol use disorder, using fMRI to understand the neural mechanisms underlying craving. The integration of functional imaging with clinical outcomes supports the development of personalized treatment strategies.

Differentiation of Extrahepatic Bile Duct Cholangiocarcinoma from Benign Stricture: Findings at MRCP versus ERCP
Mi‐Suk Park, Tae Kyoung Kim, Kyung Won Kim, Sung Won Park, Jeong Kyung Lee, Jung‐Sun Kim, Jean Hwa Lee, Kyoung Ah Kim, Ah Young Kim, Pyo Nyun Kim, Moon-Gyu Lee, Hyun Kwon Ha
SJR Q1RadiologyOA

Accuracy of MRCP is comparable with that of ERCP. Regardless of modality, a lengthy segment of extrahepatic bile duct stricture with irregular margin and asymmetric narrowing suggests cholangiocarcinoma, and a short segment with regular margin and symmetric narrowing suggests benign cause.

Perfusion CT: Noninvasive Surrogate Marker for Stratification of Pancreatic Cancer Response to Concurrent Chemo- and Radiation Therapy

SJR Q1RadiologyOA

Tumors with a high pretreatment K(trans) value tended to respond better to CCRT than did tumors with a low pretreatment K(trans) value. Perfusion CT may be used to predict tumor response to CCRT in patients with pancreatic cancer. This might aid in development of a tailored approach to therapy in these patients.

Hepatocellular carcinoma: Detection with diffusion-weighted versus contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging in pretransplant patients
Mi‐Suk Park, Sooah Kim, J. Patel, Cristina Hajdu, Richard Kinh Gian, Lorenzo Mannelli, James S. Babb, Bachir Taouli
SJR Q1HepatologyOA

UNLABELLED: This study evaluates the performance of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI) for the detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in pre-liver transplantation patients, compared and combined with contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging (CET1WI), using liver explant as the standard of reference. We included 52 patients with cirrhosis (40 men, 12 women; mean age, 56 years) who underwent DWI and CET1WI within 90 days of liver transplantation. Magnetic resonance images were a

Brain substrates of craving to alcohol cues in subjects with alcohol use disorder
Mi‐Suk Park, Jin‐Hun Sohn, Jin Suk, Seung Hyun Kim, Sunju Sohn, Richard Sparacio
SJR Q2Alcohol and AlcoholismOA

AIMS: This study's purpose was to identify the neural substrates and mechanisms responsible for craving among subjects with alcohol use disorders (AUDs) using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). METHODS: Alcohol abusers with AUD (n = 9) and demographically similar non-abusers (n = 9) participated in this study. After given 5 cc of alcohol, subjects were exposed to different types of stimuli [i.e. alcohol, non-alcoholic beverage, and visual control pictures and one rest (cross-hair)]. C

Acute cholecystitis: comparison of MR cholangiography and US.

SJR Q1RadiologyOA

In the assessment of acute cholecystitis, US is superior to MR cholangiography in the evaluation of gallbladder wall thickening. However, MR cholangiography is superior to US in the depiction of cystic duct and gallbladder neck calculi at the evaluation of cystic duct obstruction.

SJR Q3Diseases of Aquatic OrganismsOA

In 2003, 13 isolates of iridovirus were obtained from cultured flounders Paralichthys olivaceus during epizootics in Korea. The full open reading frames (ORFs) encoding the major capsid protein (MCP) (1362 bp) from the 13 flounder iridoviruses (FLIVs) were sequenced and the deduced amino acid sequences were phylogenetically analyzed. Phylogenetic analysis of the MCP revealed that all 13 FLIVs were the same species as rock bream iridovirus (RBIV), red sea bream iridovirus (RSIV), and infectious s

PURPOSE: To quantify liver T1 relaxation times before and after oxygen inhalation in patients with and without liver cirrhosis using a 3 Tesla (T) MRI. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Institutional Review Board approval and written informed consent were obtained. Ninety-two noncirrhotic patients and 87 patients with hepatitis B viral liver cirrhosis (72 Child-Pugh class A and 15 Child-Pugh class B or C) underwent MRI with a 3.0T system before and after the supply of 100% oxygen at a rate of 15 L/min by m

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the imaging and clinical findings of pathologically proven sarcomatoid hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in 11 cases. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the imaging findings and clinical features of 11 patients with pathologically proven sarcomatoid HCC at 2 university-based tertiary institutions from July 1997 to June 2006. RESULTS: The most common gross morphologies of sarcomatoid HCC were massive expanding pattern (n = 6 [54%]) or multinodular confluent (n = 5 [46%]) wit
