研究室紹介
Professor Min-Young Jeong's research lab focuses on dermatological and regenerative medicine, with a primary emphasis on skin barrier dysfunction, atopic dermatitis, and photoaging. The lab investigates novel therapeutic strategies using stem cell-derived secretome, natural extracts (such as Rhus verniciflua Stokes), and pH-modulating agents to restore skin homeostasis. It also explores innovative dermatological technologies like automicroneedle therapy and mathematical modeling for infectious disease dynamics, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to skin health and disease intervention.

11Background: A stem cell is an undifferentiated cell that has the potential for self-renewal and differentiation. Adiposederived stem cells (ADSCs) have advantages in accessibility and abundance compared to other kinds of stem cells and produce many growth factors and hormones. Objective: We investigated whether ADSC cultured media could be used as a therapy for atopic dermatitis. Methods: ADSC cultured media was topically applied twice daily for 5 days to oxazolone-treated atopic dermatitis-like
Background: The acidic pH of the stratum corneum (SC) is important for epidermal permeability barrier homeostasis. Acidification of the skin surface has been suggested as a therapeutic strategy for skin disorders such as atopic dermatitis (AD). Objective: We performed an animal study to evaluate the usefulness of acidification of SC for inhibition of AD lesions and to find out if the therapeutic effect of vinegar is attributable to its herbal contents, rather than its acidity. Methods: Five grou
Background: Various topical cosmeceuticals and lasers have been used to treat photo-aged skin that has wrinkles, acne scars and dilated pores. The microneedle therapy system (MTS) that mechanically makes multiple holes on the skin has come into the limelight to treat these skin problems via stimulating collagen remodeling. The automicroneedle therapy system (AMTS) is a developed version of MTS and it has several advantages compared with conventional MTS. AMTS can achieve regular treatment results
Background: Rhus verniciflua Stokes (RV) has traditionally been used in Korea as an indigenous food (Rhus chicken soup) and as an herbal medicinal plant. While the anticancer, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties of RV have been actively studied in the medical field, its antioxidant effects in the skin that resist the reactive oxygen species in keratinocytes and fibroblasts is less understood. Objective: We designed to evaluate the effects of R. verniciflua Stokes extract (RVE) on the
South Korea implemented interventions to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic with discovery of the first case in early 2020. Mathematical modeling designed to reflect the dynamics of disease transmission has been shown to be an important tool for responding to COVID-19. This study aimed to review publications on the structure, meth od, and role of mathematical models focusing on COVID-19 transmission dynamics in Korea. In total, 42 papers published be tween
X-linked ichthyosis (XLI) is a recessively inherited ichthyosis. Skin barrier function of XLI patients reported in Western countries presented minimally abnormal or normal. Here, we evaluated the skin barrier properties and a skin barrier-related gene mutation in 16 Korean XLI patients who were diagnosed by fluorescence in situ hybridization and array comparative genomic hybridization analysis. Skin barrier properties were measured, cytokine expression levels in the stratum corneum (SC) were eva
This research suggests digital artificial lens that digitized age-related changes in color perception. In aging societies, many elders experience decline in color perception. In this regard, there has been research in medical domain with elders' lens of color perception. However, field application of elder's color distinction on public spatial environment need to be improved. Seoul metro is a good example. Seoul metro includes a mix of commercial, residential, office and entertainment centered a
This research suggests a way of recommendation criteria for shareholders’ style in artwork using Image Deep learning. In terms of practices, visitors to MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) can only be limited as participants. In this aspect, using online data of the person and artwork is access to the concept of interaction as a subject. In this paper, each exhibition explored an user-centered perspective and implementation methods were explored by a person’s data. The data of Person and artwork image h
This research suggests to classify Emotional adjective for the hospital indoor image. The aim of this study was twofold. First it is an attempt to overcome limitation of overfitting data with pre-process and Second it is an approach for prediction quantified the image data with Emotional adjective. The emotion is important because emotion interact between indoor and human. The hospital indoor image also have specialized emotional effect. Emotional adjective is necessary to verify throughout vari
