Professor Mina Ahn's research lab specializes in integrative oncology and psychosocial oncology, focusing on the psychosocial and emotional impacts of cancer, particularly in women with breast and gynecological cancers. The lab explores non-pharmacological interventions such as art therapy to support emotional processing, grief resolution, and quality of life in patients experiencing physical loss due to cancer. Current research also investigates biomarker-enriched immunotherapy strategies in hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer, emphasizing personalized treatment approaches. The lab bridges mental health support with precision oncology, aiming to improve holistic patient outcomes.

2본 질적 사례 연구는 신체적 상실을 경험한 여성암 환자의 애도를 위한 미술치료 과정에서 여성이 어떠한 경험을 하였고, 그 경험의 의미가 무엇인지 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 본 연구를 위해 자궁경부암 0기 진단 후 전자궁적출술을 받았으며, 유방암 2기 진단 후 우측 유방 부분절제술을 받아 사례선정 당시 항암화학요법 치료 과정 중에 있던 만 43세 기혼여성이 참여하였다. 애도를 위한 미술치료 프로그램은 총 16회기로, Kubler-Ross의 애도 5단계와 Worden이 제시한 애도의 기본과업 네 가지를 토대로 반구조화 된 방식으로 구성되었다. 수집된 자료는 반복적 비교분석법을 적용하여 신체적 상실을 경험한 여성암 환자의 애도를 위한 미술치료 경험과 의미를 탐색하였다. 그 결과, 참여자의 경험은 ‘암으로 인한 외형적 변화에 표면적 상실감을 느낌’, ‘오랜 시간 억압되어온 모호한 내면적 상실감은 마주할 용기가 없음’, ‘미술치료 안에서 막연했던 상실감의 실체를 알아차림’, ‘미술 작업을 통
