研究室紹介
Professor Mina Park's research lab specializes in pediatric anesthesiology and pharmacology, focusing on the safety and efficacy of sedative agents in young children. The lab investigates paradoxical drug reactions, particularly those induced by midazolam, with an emphasis on how age and dosage influence adverse behavioral responses. Their work contributes to optimizing sedation protocols in pediatric patients to enhance clinical outcomes and patient safety. The lab employs clinical trial methodologies to evaluate drug effects in controlled settings, aiming to inform evidence-based practice in pediatric critical care and anesthesia.

1Background: Although midazolam administration may occasionally induce a paradoxical episode, such as threatened crying and violent behavior in children, systematic studies on the causes of paradoxical reaction are limited. We investigated the effect of children’s age and a dose of midazolam on the paradoxical reaction. Methods: A total of one hundred sixty four children of 1-3 years and 3-5 years, were enrolled in this study. Each age group randomly received 0.05 mg/kg or 0.1 mg/kg of intravenou
