Professor Mingyu Park's research lab specializes in atmospheric and environmental chemistry, focusing on the characterization of airborne particulate matter and trace metals in urban and industrial environments. The lab investigates the size distribution, chemical composition, and sources of fine particulate matter, including ionic species, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and heavy metals, with particular emphasis on pollution sources in industrialized regions like Ulsan, South Korea. Research directions include environmental risk assessment, source apportionment, and the health implications of airborne pollutants in urban and industrial settings.

4In this study, the size distributions of airborne particulate matter (PM) associated ionic species (Cl-, NO3-, SO42-, Na+, NH4+, K+, Mg2+, and Ca2+) and pollution sources were investigated. Objectives : Cigarette smoking is an important factor in human exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Machine-smoking methods have been devised to evaluate inhalation exposure to mainstream cigarette smoke.
