研究室紹介

Professor Minseok Yang's research lab specializes in clinical immunology and pharmacology, with a primary focus on severe adverse drug reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, and anaphylaxis. The lab investigates the epidemiology, risk factors, and clinical outcomes of drug-induced and allergic conditions, particularly in relation to novel tobacco products, cephalosporins, and allergen-specific immunotherapies. A key emphasis is placed on population-based studies using national health databases to improve diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment strategies for immune-mediated diseases.

BACKGROUND: The effect of novel tobacco products, such as electronic cigarettes (EC) and heated tobacco products (HTP), on allergic rhinitis (AR) and asthma is not well known. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the health effect of novel tobacco products on asthma and AR. METHODS: This study was conducted using large survey data on Korean middle and high school students. The relationship between current asthma/AR and novel tobacco products user status was evaluated. In order to compare the combined effects

BACKGROUND: Few studies have investigated the incidence of anaphylaxis induced by individual or structurally similar cephalosporins. The aims of the study were to assess the incidence of cephalosporin-induced anaphylaxis and evaluate the clinical efficacy of screening skin tests. METHODS: In this retrospective cohort study, we obtained information on total cephalosporin use and cephalosporin-induced anaphylaxis in intravenous cephalosporin recipients in 12 general hospitals between 2013 and 2015

SJR Q2International Archives of Allergy and Immunology

BACKGROUND: Severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs) include Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), and drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS). SJS and TEN (SJS/TEN) and DRESS are thought to be different diseases; however, they share some clinical and laboratory features. Although SCORTEN serves as an excellent prognostic marker for SJS/TEN, there is still a need for development of other prognostic markers for SCARs. METHODS: The study populati

The incidence trend of anaphylaxis in Asia is not well investigated. The aim of this study is to estimate the entire population-based incidence of anaphylaxis in Korea using a nationwide administrative database.Data over a 7-year period (2008-2014) was obtained from the Korean National Health Insurance (NHI) claims database which covers 97.9% of the entire Korean population. Using diagnosis codes from the International Classification of Diseases-10 for anaphylaxis (T78.0, T78.2, T80.5, and T88.6

BACKGROUND: Most previous studies used aluminum hydroxide-absorbed allergen extracts in evaluating the potential therapeutic roles of intralymphatic allergen-specific immunotherapy (ILAIT). In this study, we evaluated the therapeutic efficacy and safety of ILAIT with L-tyrosine-adsorbed allergen extracts of Dermatophagoides farinae, D. pteronyssinus, cat, dog, or mixtures thereof, in patients with allergic rhinitis induced by these allergens. METHODS: In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-co

This study was conducted to assess the changes in the annual incidence of adult asthma in Korea where the prevalence of asthma had increased steadily in recent decades. A population-based cohort study was conducted using the National Health Insurance Service-National Sample Cohort (NHIS-NSC), which consisted of 746,816 adults aged >20 years between 2004 and 2012. Asthma was defined by two or more physician claims on the basis of a primary diagnostic code for asthma and administration of asthma m

The relationship between oral health and atopic dermatitis (AD) remains unclear. Here we investigated the association between oral health status and AD using data from 634,299 subjects in the Korean Youth Risk Behavior Survey (KYRBS). Participants with oral symptoms were defined as those with any of following: sensitive teeth, toothache, bleeding gums or gum pain, and dry mouth. Current AD was determined by the question if participant had been diagnosed with AD from doctor within the past 12 mon

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the impact of an electronic consultation support system on the incidence of hypersensitivity reactions to iodinated radiocontrast media (RCM). MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective observational study was conducted before and after the introduction of the consultation support system. The 1-year study period was divided into two 6-month periods: before and after 1 December 2012 (baseline and intervention periods, respectively), which was when our consultation support syste
