Professor Minsu Jung's research lab focuses on health behavior, health communication, and social determinants of health, with a strong emphasis on health information-seeking behavior, health literacy, and health equity. The lab investigates how socioeconomic status, media use, and social capital influence health outcomes, particularly among vulnerable populations such as cancer survivors, older adults, and low-income communities in low- and middle-income countries. A central theme is reducing communication inequalities to improve health awareness, vaccination uptake, and patient empowerment in public health contexts.

It is known that the level of HIV/AIDS-related knowledge and the degree of condom use varies by socioeconomic status (SES). However, there is limited research on the effect of mass media use on HIV/AIDS-related cognitive and behavioral outcomes in low-income countries and how it might influence the association between SES and HIV-related outcomes. We investigated the moderating effect of media use on the relationship between SES and HIV/AIDS-related knowledge and condom use in sub-Saharan Africa
