Professor Moon-Ku Han's research lab specializes in cerebrovascular and neurological disorders, with a focus on acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and Alzheimer’s disease. The lab investigates hemodynamic and metabolic mechanisms underlying stroke outcomes, including blood pressure variability, clot contraction, and neurovascular protection. It also explores the role of vascular risk factors and pharmacological agents—such as statins—in modifying disease progression and neuroprotection. 15After occurrence of RAO, there is a high risk of a subsequent vascular event, particularly ipsilateral stroke, within one month. LAA is an independent factor for the occurrence of a subsequent vascular event. Management for the prevention of secondary vascular events is necessary in patients with RAO especially with LAA. Large clinical trials are needed to confirm these findings.
