Professor Moon Rennie Jungyean's research lab specializes in global education policy, with a focus on the international diffusion of human rights education (HRE) in state schools. The lab examines how political, economic, and institutional factors shape state-level adoption of HRE, drawing on cross-national comparative data and theoretical frameworks such as modernization theory, neocorporatist institutionalism, and strategic state behavior. Current research explores the role of international norms, reputational incentives, and developmental trajectories in educational reform. The lab also investigates the intersection of education policy with global governance and nation-building strategies.
