Professor Myengsoo Seo's research lab specializes in the development of advanced functional materials and optoelectronic devices, with a focus on ultrathin oxide semiconductors for next-generation sensing and photonic applications. The lab pioneers low-temperature atomic layer deposition techniques to fabricate high-performance, substrate-compatible photodetectors, particularly for deep-ultraviolet light detection. Research also extends to the intersection of architecture, art, and memorial design, exploring how spatial form and sensory experience convey cultural and philosophical meanings.

본 연구는 중국계 미국인 건축가이자 예술가인 마야 잉 린(Maya Ying Lin, 林瓔, 1959-)의 기념 공간에 나타난 다양한 성격을 해석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 마야 린의 작업은 전통적인 전쟁 기념비 형식에서 벗어나, 물리적·사회문화적 균형을 지향하는 새로운 기념 공간의 가능성을 제시한다. 특히 본 연구는 기념비에 나타난 수직성과 수평성, 건축과 조경의 통합, 시각적 요소와 촉각적 경험, 그리고 동서양의 철학적 사유가 어떻게 조화를 이루는지를 분석한다.
