Professor Ryu Jee-il's research lab specializes in neurosurgical and neurological disorders, with a focus on aging-related brain and bone health, intracranial hemorrhage, and brain tumor biology. The lab investigates the interplay between systemic conditions—such as osteoporosis and chronic subdural hematoma—and intracranial pathologies, using advanced imaging and clinical data analysis. Key research directions include the pathophysiology of bone flap resorption after cranioplasty, the role of Wnt/β-catenin signaling in glioblastoma stemness and immunosuppression, and the association between bone mineral density and cerebral atrophy in healthy aging. The lab integrates neuroimaging, molecular biology, and large-scale clinical data to explore mechanisms underlying neurological outcomes and recurrence in neurosurgical patients.
