Professor Sae-Young Park's research lab focuses on stem cell biology and regenerative medicine, with a particular emphasis on identifying and characterizing multipotent stem cells from accessible human tissues such as tonsils and placenta. The lab investigates the mechanisms underlying the differentiation of these stem cells—especially mesenchymal stem cells—into functional myogenic cells for skeletal muscle regeneration. Key research directions include optimizing cryopreservation techniques for human embryos and zygotes, and exploring the immunological responses to vaccines in aging populations, particularly in relation to pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccines.
