Professor Sang-woong Moon's research lab specializes in developing advanced nanomaterial-based biosensors and therapeutic strategies for ocular diseases, with a strong focus on diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and infectious diseases like COVID-19. The lab integrates nanotechnology, surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), and deep learning to create highly sensitive, label-free detection platforms using 3D nanoarchitectures such as ZnO nanorods and molybdenum disulfide-supported gold nanoparticles. They also conduct clinical trials to evaluate novel therapeutics, including grape seed proanthocyanidin extract, for retinal diseases.
