Professor Sanghun Kim's research lab specializes in ubiquitous healthcare (u-health) systems, focusing on wearable technologies that enable accurate, real-time monitoring of physiological signals—such as photoplethysmography (PPG) and electrocardiogram (ECG)—during daily activities. The lab develops innovative solutions like smart headbands and mobile health monitoring programs to enhance health-state assessment in dynamic environments, particularly for mobile and m-learning applications in medical education. A key research direction involves signal calibration techniques to reduce motion artifacts, ensuring reliable data collection even with minimal user constraint. The lab also explores the intersection of health technology with educational environments, particularly in medical training and student performance assessment.
