Professor Se-Jin Oh's research lab focuses on environmental remediation and heavy metal stabilization in agricultural soils, with an emphasis on developing and evaluating chemical amendments such as lime, steel slag, and zeolites to reduce bioavailability and transfer of toxic metals to crops. The lab also investigates the impact of airborne particulate matter on human skin health, particularly in healthy individuals, using controlled prospective studies. Additionally, the lab explores advanced mathematical structures in representation theory, particularly the categorification of quantum affine algebras and their connections to quiver Hecke algebras, contributing to the understanding of cluster algebras and monoidal categories in mathematical physics. The interdisciplinary approach bridges environmental science, materials chemistry, and advanced mathematics.

토양에 적용된 안정화공법은 대조구에 비해 높은 수준의 안정화 효율성을 나타냈으며, 안정화 후 유효태 중금속함량의 경우 적용된 추출기법에 따라 많은 차이가 있는 것으로 평가되었다. 그렇지만, 토양의 안정화는 평가기법별로 농도의 차이는 있지만 식물 유효태를 감소시킬 수 있다는 결론을 얻었다. 농작물로의 전이량은 0.1 M HCl, 5 mM DTPA와 분획화 시험법이 높은 상관관계를 나타내었다. 하지만 토양의 특성이 고려되지 않고 단지 중금속의 농도만을 고려한 시험이었기에 향후 다양한 토양의 이화학적 인자값을 평가하여 심도 깊은 연구가 진행되어야 할 것으로 사료된다. We construct an exact tensor functor from the category A of finite-dimensional graded modules over the quiver Hecke algebra of type A ∞ to the category C B n ( 1 ) of finite-dimensional integrable modules over the quantum affine algebra of type B n ( 1 ) . 본 연구는 수용액 내 존재하는 Cd, Pb을 다양한 화학적 안정화제를 이용하여 안정화 효율성을 평가하였다. 연구에 사용한 안정화제는 중금속 이온과의 반응특성 별로 석회물질, 광물질 등으로 구분하여 문헌조사를 바탕으로 5종을 선정하여 사용했다. 안정화 효율성 평가방법은 용액 내 중금속 함량을 단계적으로 제조하여 안정화 효율성, 반감기 및 반응속도 산정 및 반응 후 안정화제의 반응생성물 확인의 순으로 진행했다. 안정화 효율성 평가결과 석회물질 (<TEX>$CaCO_3$</TEX>)을 다량 함유하여 기본적으로 pH를 8이상으로 교정하는 안정화제의 경우 처리량에 상관없이 대부분 불용화되는 것으로 나타났으며, 낮은 산도교정 물질은 50% 수준의 효율성을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 효율성이 크게 나타난 물질을 대상으로 반응속도상수 (K)를 산출한 결과 Cd의 경우 처리량에 따라 증가하였지만, Pb의 경우 초기에 반응속도가 빠르게 일어나 처리량에 따른 평가는 불가능 하였다. 다량의 중금속 이

Evaluating Stabilization Efficiency of Coal Combustion Ash (CCA) for Coal Mine Wastes: Column Experiment

본 연구는 다량의 중금속을 함유하는 폐석탄 광산에 적치된 폐석으로부터 발생하는 침출수의 안정화를 위해 석탄회를 안정화제로서의 적용성을 평가하는데 목적이 있다. 석탄폐석에 석탄회를 적용하여 컬럼시험을 수행한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 석탄회의 pH는 비산재와 바닥재가 각각 11.1, 9.7의 강알칼리성을 갖는 것으로 나타나 강산성 조건의 폐석 (pH 3.5)를 교정하였으며 유기물을 비롯하여 식물 생장에 필요한 영양소인 인산, 칼슘 등을 함유하는 것으로 나타나 폐석과 혼합할 경우 비옥도가 개선될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 2) 폐석만을 충진한 컬럼에서 발생하는 침출수의 pH는 3.5~4.0의 수준을 시험기간 동안 지속적으로 유지하는 것으로 나타나지만, 석탄회의 처리량에 따라 40% (pH 5.0~6.0) > 20% (pH 4.5)로 나타나고, 동일 처리량 (40%)의 처리방법에 따른 효율성은 완전혼합 (pH 5.0~6.0) 방법이 층위처리 (pH 4.0~4.5)에 비해 pH 상승효과가
