Professor Seong Ho Yoo's research lab focuses on translational and clinical studies in hepatology, particularly the role of immune mediators like interleukin-22 in chronic liver diseases. The lab also investigates the cellular origins of rare tumors, such as sclerosing hemangioma, using immunohistochemical approaches. Additionally, the lab conducts population-based epidemiological research on sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and geriatric health, emphasizing environmental and demographic risk factors. These diverse research directions reflect a strong commitment to understanding disease mechanisms and improving public health outcomes in Korea.

15UNLABELLED: Interleukin-22 (IL-22), which acts as either a proinflammatory or anti-inflammatory cytokine in various disease models, is markedly up-regulated in chronic liver diseases, including hepatitis B and C. This study examines the factors related to the frequency of senior center participation in Korea. The analyses are based on a sample of 316 Koreans, aged 65 and over, participating at a senior center in Chon-An City. The results show that gender, level of education, and health are statistically significant predictors of participation. That is, male Korean elderly, those who have a higher level of education, and those with better self-assessed health are more likely to participate at the center.
