Professor Seung Hwan Jeong's research lab specializes in biomedical engineering and translational nanomedicine, focusing on the development of flexible and biocompatible microdevices for minimally invasive diagnostics and therapeutics. The lab pioneers innovative microneedle-based sensors for real-time physiological monitoring, particularly pH sensing in skin, and investigates the biological interactions of functional materials such as ionic liquids with cellular membranes. Additionally, the lab explores the tumor microenvironment and immune modulation, especially the role of STING pathway activation in anti-tumor immunity, aiming to enhance the efficacy of cancer immunotherapies.

Pathological T3a upstaging of cT1 renal cell carcinoma was associated with a poorer prognosis, compared to pT1 disease. However, the surgical technique (radical or partial nephrectomy) did not affect the recurrence rate.
