Professor Seung-hyun Yong's research lab focuses on respiratory diseases, particularly lung cancer, interstitial lung disease (ILD), and rheumatoid arthritis-associated interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD), with an emphasis on understanding the role of microbiomes, clinical progression, and treatment outcomes. The lab integrates advanced molecular techniques such as 16S rRNA sequencing and deep learning-based image analysis to explore host-microbe interactions, improve diagnostic accuracy, and optimize therapeutic strategies including immunotherapy and ECMO bridging in lung transplantation. A key focus is on identifying clinical and microbiological predictors of disease progression and treatment response to enhance patient outcomes.
