Professor Seung-June Oh's research lab specializes in experimental condensed matter physics and biomedical engineering, with a focus on electron spectroscopy techniques such as photoemission spectroscopy to investigate electronic structures in quantum materials, including Mott insulators and transition metal compounds. The lab also conducts clinical research on urological disorders, particularly stress urinary incontinence and benign prostatic hyperplasia, evaluating patient-reported outcomes, diagnostic tools like bladder scanners, and surgical interventions such as holmium laser enucleation of the prostate. 15The photon energy dependences of the valence-band photoemission spectra of the Mott insulator NiO, the Pauli paramagnetic metal NiTe, the diamagnetic metal NiSb, and the semiconductor ${\mathrm{Cu}}_{2}$O have been measured in the vicinity of the transition-metal $3p$ threshold. Differential renal function is higher in larger hydronephrotic kidney but function of the kidney with an obstructive pattern is overestimated on later phases of 99mTc-MAG3 renal scan.
