Professor Seung-Jun Yoo's research lab specializes in the development of advanced optoelectronic materials and devices, with a primary focus on organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) for next-generation display and lighting technologies. The lab investigates exciplex-based host systems, phosphorescent and fluorescent emitters, and exciton dynamics to achieve high internal and external quantum efficiencies in OLEDs. Key research directions include optimizing energy transfer mechanisms, controlling molecular orientation, and minimizing non-radiative decay pathways in organic semiconductors. The lab also explores the biological mechanisms of viral infection, particularly SARS-CoV-2 pathogenesis in the olfactory system, through innovative postmortem tissue sampling techniques.
