Professor So Yeon Won's research lab focuses on vascular and neural development, with a central emphasis on the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying angiogenesis and neurodevelopmental disorders. The lab investigates ciliary mechanosensation and tubulin posttranslational modifications in vascular biology, as well as the role of extracellular matrix factors in Schwann cell development and peripheral nerve repair. Additionally, the lab applies advanced imaging and artificial intelligence to improve diagnostic accuracy in cerebrovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. Their work bridges basic cell biology with translational applications in autism spectrum disorder, aneurysm detection, and neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.
